Jacob Neal MINNIEAR, PhD

My passion for travel and languages began during my high school adventures in France. Later, in university, I fully immersed myself in French life and language in Aix-en-Provence, where the true treasures were self-discovery and lifelong friendships. Transitioning into education, I’ve spent over a decade living and teaching abroad in both France and Turkey. My career has taken me across these countries and the U.S., always eager to travel and help others discover the world. Now, I guide students in the College of Education as they embark on their own international journeys. I’ve had the privilege of working on programs in France, Italy, and Greece.  There’s a Turkish saying, “Çok Gezen Çok Bilir,” meaning “Those who travel know much.” Is it not our hope that every educator embraces this wisdom?
